Virgin Birth

The Christian idea of a virgin birth is derived from the verse in Isaiah 7:14 describing an “alma” as giving birth. The word “alma” has always meant a young woman, but Christian theologians came centuries later and translated it as “virgin.” This accords Jesus’ birth with the first-century pagan idea of mortals being impregnated by gods.

Suffering Servant

In actuality, Isaiah 53 directly follows the theme of chapter 52, describing the exile and redemption of the Jewish people. The prophecies are written in the singular form because the Jews (“Israel”) are regarded as one unit. Throughout Jewish scripture, Israel is repeatedly called, in the singular, the “Servant of G-d” (see Isaiah 43:8). In fact, Isaiah states no less than 11 times in the chapters prior to 53 that the Servant of G-d is Israel.

When read correctly, Isaiah 53 clearly [and ironically] refers to the Jewish people being “bruised, crushed and as sheep brought to slaughter” at the hands of the nations of the world. These descriptions are used throughout Jewish scripture to graphically describe the suffering of the Jewish people (see Psalm 44).

Isaiah 53 concludes that when the Jewish people are redeemed, the nations will recognize and accept responsibility for the inordinate suffering and death of the Jews.

I am Statements

In John, we read Jesus is the light, the way, the truth, salvation, refuge, gate, and in Paul's letters, we read he is the vine, and some others the rock, foundation, the cornerstone. In Judaism, every single one of these is directly related to the One. He is the way, the truth, the life, the light, the rock, refuge, etc… Thus Jesus indeed must be G-d. However, in Judaism, this is not possible and is in no way related to the Messiah as we have shown in the previous articles. Most of Jesus divination statements come from the gospel of John, letters of John, and revelations. Those are all written around 100 AC, by unknown authors, over some time period, and are excluded from the synoptic gospels for their difference in theology. They introduced a huge shift in the future forming Christianity as we know it.

[Isaiah 42:8] I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no one else, nor my praise to graven idols.

Path, refuge, shield

[Psalm 77:19–20] Your way was in the sea. And Your paths in the mighty waters, And Your footprints may not be known. You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
[Psalm 18:35–3] You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand upholds me; your help made me great. You provide a wide path for my feet, so that my ankles do not succumb.
[Psalm 31:1] In Thee, O Lord, have I sought refuge; never let me be ashamed; deliver me in your righteousness.

Rock, foundation

[Psalm 118:14] The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.
[Psalm 18:2] The Lord is my rock and my stronghold and my savior, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
[Psalm 25:5] Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.
[Psalm 62:] Verily he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

G-D is ONE!

So then, if G-d only can forgive sins, then Jesus must be G-d!

[Numbers 23:19] “G-d is not a man that He should lie, nor a mortal that He should change His mind.”

Judaism teaches that it is heretical for any man to claim to be G-d, part of G-d, or the literal son of G-d. The Jerusalem Talmud (Ta’anit 2:1) states explicitly: “if a man claims to be God, he is a liar.” As well the idea that G-d is many, or plural, or trinity is not biblical nor a Monotheistic belief.

[Exodus 20:3] “You shall have no other G-ds before me.
[Deuteronomy 4:3] It has been shown to you, that you may know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides him.
[Deuteronomy 4:39] Know therefore today, and put it in your hearts, that the Lord Gd is in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.
[Deuteronomy 6: 4]: “Hear Israel, the Lord is our G-d, the Lord is one.”
[Isaiah 44:6]: Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no g-d.
[Isaiah 43:10]: “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know me and believe and understand that I am. No g-d was formed before me, nor will there be one after me.
[Isaiah 44:8] Fear not, neither be afraid; have I not told and explained to you of old? And you are my witnesses! Is there a G-d next to me? There is no Rock; I don’t know any.”

Conclusion

The idea of the virgin birth is not in the scriptures, and that Jesus is the suffering servant is not a correct interpretation, the I am statements are attributed by the unknown authors of John to Jesus decades after he died. The words ‘rock, foundation, path, refuge’ are uniquely attributed to Hashem in the Old Testament, and those texts claim very clearly no one else will have those titles, as he is not a mortal, or a man (Numbers 23:19). As well, the Trinity, a plurality of persons in one Godhead is not a Judaistic concept. He is absolutely ONE, and there are no other G-ds besides him. Christianity is separating it self away from Judaism here as they contradict each other a lot.
